One thing I become aware of early on in my stroke survival journey, the term "recovery" the medical community kept telling me only gave me false hope. The medical community kept telling me I would recover from my stroke. I found this term "recovery" more increased my hopelessness because my brain and were not automatically recovering. The word recovery means my stroke will automatically heal. This "recovery" term is absolutely 100% inaccurate! and it It misleads the stroke survivor.
