Hi, I'm Aaron Avila CEO/Founder of Stroke TV Media Network. One thing I become aware of early on in my stroke survival journey, the term "recovery" the medical community kept telling me only gave me false hope. The medical community kept telling me I would recover from my stroke. I found this term "recovery" more increased my hopelessness because my brain and were not automatically recovering. The word recovery means my stroke will automatically heal. This "recovery" term is absolutely 100% inaccurate! and it It misleads the stroke survivor. It leads the stroke survivor to think stroke is like a wound that heals automatically. MY FELLOW STROKE SURVIVORS, THIS IS NOT ACCURATE! I had a Neurplastition tell me repetition is the language of the brain. My fellow stroke survivors, the Neuroplasticitey of our brains is the only way we can and will rebuild our lives after a stroke.
