Eighty Percent—And Why That Terrifies Survivors More Than The Stroke Itself.
Eighty percent of strokes are preventable if you control four things: blood pressure, diabetes, smoking, and atrial fibrillation. Nothing mystical—just four knobs. 1) Blood pressure over 140/90 is stroke fuel—cut salt, walk five minutes an hour, lose ten pounds. 2) Diabetes turns your veins into cement—check A1C twice a year, skip the soda, eat greens like they're oxygen. 3) Smoking? One cigarette is one lottery ticket for rupture—quit cold, or don't quit, your call, but know the odds. 4) AFib means your heart flutters and clots form—get the EKG, take the blood thinner, move your ass anyway. Do all four and you're in that twenty percent that can't be touched. Do nothing—good luck. Eighty percent is not a rumor. It's a dare.
Sincerely,
